Buklod Memories

Minsan sa may Kalayaan tayo nagkatagpuan...

When I opened my email this evening, I was greeted by a usual message in my mails. A Facebook newsletter was telling me that I was tagged in some photos on someone else's Facebook account. So, I logged-in to my own account to check out the said photos. This brought me to an album that contained old photos from circa 2001. They were photos taken during the 18th Buklod Atenista Congress that I attended in Davao when I was serving as CSG President in Xavier University. The photos reminded me of many fond memories of the event, both good and bad.

Buklod Atenista was an annual gathering of college student councils from all Ateneo universities in the country. I was allowed to send at least two delegates from our school. Since XU was scheduled to host the event the following year, I decided to bring with me as many delegates as I want. Well, not really! Only up to as many # of individuals that our budget could allow. So, I picked my vice president - Marvin Yap, executive secretary - Kitch Rodriguez, and cabinet members - Andrew Balandra, Mie Shen Reyes and Dyan Mayor to represent XU. I also invited then Engineering council president - Ben Borja and ArtScies council officer - Christian Echem to join us as they could provide potential support to us when it will be our time to host the event.

Attending the 18th Buklod Atenista Congress in Davao was a great experience not only for me but for all the participants - the organizers and delegates alike. It was a good opportunity for the participating schools to exhibit congenially how the Ateneo schools are similar in some ways and different in others. At the end, each schools would have helped the other schools in resolving the issues being faced at hand by participating in the discussions and suggesting possible courses of actions.

Please indulge yourself in viewing the photos below and check out how slim and fit we used to be when we were a bit younger.

More than 7 years have passed. I have already lost touch with the Buklod Atenista delegates from the other schools. However, most of the people I was with in Buklod Atenista 7 years ago have become the closest friends I have at present. Thanks to Buklod Atenista for these friends and thanks to Benborj for sharing the photos!

Turning Gold

Our Mom has turned 50.

My two sisters and I hated her for a lot of things when we were growing up.

Absurd house rules.

Strong conviction on disciplining with the rod.

Luhod sa asin.

Stinginess on the household budget.

Minamahal ko siya, wala nang hahanapin pa
Kahit ano'ng sabihin ng iba, minamahal ko siya,
Wala nang hahanapin pa"

On this site will rise...

MY NEW HOME!

For the past years, I had maintained only two social networking website accounts. One is with Friendster and the other one, with Multiply. Unfortunately, my Multiply account got messed up when some stranger uploaded some naughty stuffs unto my account. Apparently due to a small dose of stupidity in my brain, I left the account open when I last accessed it using a public computer some time last year. Finding my account with horrifying contents, I decided to just cancel the existing account and open a new one. But in my attempt to build a new account with Multiply, the system would no longer allow me to use the same blog title - that is JURIZdiction. So, I abandoned the idea.

For some time, I only had my Friendster account to maintain on the web space. Well, a couple of friends invited me to join Facebook. I checked it and eventually, opened an account with it. Yet, I could not get the hang of it. It was way too complicated for me.

Then while wasting some good time on the internet, I found this space...

And so, I thought, "Well, this could be it! The new site for my new home."

WELCOME TO MY NEW PLACE!

Feel free to visit me anytime. I am here to give you a glimpse of what's happening in my world -- Know some of my thoughts. Meet my family and friends. Listen to my favorite tunes. View snippets of my life. Of course, you're invited to share yours too.

I hope you will enjoy your stay and visit me often... CIAO!
